We’ll they get that reputation for a reason.A rabbits gestation period is about 30 day, and their breeding season is about 9 months out of the year, but if that weren’t enough they have something called induced ovulation. This means that rabbits get pregnant every single time they have sex. Add that knowledge with the fact that rabbits give birth to 6 to 12 kits per litter. That’s a lot of babies.

Rabbits are not the only animals that have induced ovulation, but they are probably the most prolific and efficient. Camels do as well, as do ferrets and cats.

As much as humans tend to enjoy sex this is not true with cats. In fact a cat’s penis is barbed and sex is very painful for the female. The barb is thought to help prevent the female from pulling out before the male has finished. Male cats will also take hold of the females neck with their teeth, another thing that makes cat sex not-so-fun. This happens in house cats, as well as all species of big cats.
